Nashville Predators general manager Barry Trotz wasn’t done Thursday after trading for forward Anthony Beauvillier.

The Predators GM made his second acquisition of the day, just 24 hours before the March 8 trade deadline, when he claimed Los Angeles Kings forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan on waivers.

A second-round pick of the Kings in 2017, Anderson-Dolan hasn’t quite stuck in the NHL. He’s played 126 games in L.A. over the last six seasons (notching 15 goals and 28 points) and skating in a career-high 46 NHL games last year.

The Predators owe Anderson-Dolan approximately $173,567 through the rest of the season. He’s under a one-year, $750,000 contract, and will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

Anderson-Dolan’s addition puts the Predators roster at 23 players. Once the Beauvillier trade is made official, the Predators will have to make room on the roster for him. If the Predators want one or both of Mark Jankowski and Denis Gurianov to be available for the Milwaukee Admirals playoff run, both will have to be sent back to the AHL before Friday morning.

A decorated junior-league scorer, Anderson-Dolan tallied 99 goals and 210 points across 174 games during his last three seasons with the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League. His scoring prowess dipped off a bit in the American Hockey League, as he totaled just 32 goals and 77 points in 112 games with L.A.’s AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign.

Anderson-Dolan also has a wealth of international experience as well, playing for Team Canada at both the U17 and U18 World Championship plus the IIHF World Junior Championship in 2019 and 2021. He has two goals and five points in 16 games of international competition.
