Though he has yet to earn a call-up from the Nashville Predators, Denis Gurianov is making the most of his time in the American Hockey League with the Milwaukee Admirals.

The 26-year-old forward was named the AHL Player of the Week on Tuesday for the week ending Dec. 31, 2023.

During that three-game stretch, Gurianov scored four goals and six points as the Admirals went 2-1 with wins over the Chicago Wolves and Rockford IceHogs and a loss to Rockford as well.

He had a two-goal, four-point outing in a dominating 7-4 win versus Chicago, leading all Admirals players in points and matching Mark Jankowski with multiple goals. He also led the team with six shots on goal.

Two nights later against Rockford, Gurianov added another goal plus five shots on goal in a 5-4 shootout win. Ironically, he was the only Admirals player to not score a goal in the shootout.

Gurianov was placed on waivers at the beginning of October as the Predators trimmed their roster down to 23 ahead of the regular-season opener. He went unclaimed and was assigned to the Milwaukee Admirals the next day.

His performance during the preseason left much to be desired, tallying one assist, eight shots on goal, two blocked shots and three giveaways while averaging 14:03 of ice time and 2:08 of power play time per game.

While the Predators are set at forward for now, Gurianov could see some time in the NHL should the team suffer another long-term injury to any of its forwards (Cody Glass and Tommy Novak have missed significant time already with varying injuries).

Through 27 AHL games, Gurianov leads the Admirals in points (30) and power-play goals (3), and he ranks second in goals (12) and shots behind Egor Afanasyev (13 and 84).
