Predators Announce Dates, Roster for 2023 Rookie Camp

Before the Nashville Predators head to Florida to compete in the 2023 Southeast Rookie Showcase next week, the team announced it would open rookie camp on Thursday, Sept 14.



Nashville’s full rookie camp schedule is below:

Thursday, Sept. 14 — Practice, 10 a.m. CT, Centennial Sportsplex

Friday, Sept. 15 — Predators vs. Lightning, 3 p.m. CT, Rookie Showcase

Saturday, Sept. 16 — Predators vs. Panthers, 5 p.m. CT, Rookie Showcase

Sunday, Sept. 17 — Day off

Monday, Sept. 18 — Predators vs. Hurricanes, 9 a.m. CT, Rookie Showcase

The Predators also released the roster for rookie camp and the rookie showcase, which features 18 draft picks, two invitees, and three AHL signees coached by Milwaukee Admirals head coach Karl Taylor plus Admirals assistant coaches Scott Ford and Greg Rallo.

The Predators full rookie camp roster is below:

Eight players on the rookie camp roster did not attend development camp including Austin Elliott, Luke Evangelista, Joakim Kemell, Jachym Kondelik, Navrin Mutter, Jack O’Brien, Fedor Svechkov, and Kevin Wall.

Notable 2023 draft picks not on the roster include Matthew Wood (No. 15 overall), Felix Nilsson (No. 43 overall) Jesse Kiiskinen (No. 68 overall) and Juha Jatkola (No. 121 overall). Wood and Philip Tomasino (whose 107 games of NHL experience disqualify him from rookie status) are the only two Predators players in Nashville Hockey Now‘s top 10 prospects not participating in rookie camp.

Following the rookie showcase, the Predators kick off their training camp on Sept. 20 with meetings and physicals followed by on-ice activities on Sept. 21 at Centennial Sportsplex.

Nashville’s preseason schedule begins on Sept. 25 with a doubleheader. The full preseason schedule is below:

Monday, Sept. 25 — at Panthers, 5 p.m. CT, FLA Live Arena

Wednesday, Sept. 27 — vs. Lightning, 7 p.m. CT, Bridgestone Arena

Saturday, Sept. 30 — at Lightning, 4 p.m. CT, Amalie Arena

Thursday, Oct. 5 — vs. Hurricanes, 7 p.m. CT, Bridgestone Arena

Friday, Oct. 6 — at Hurricanes, 6 p.m. CT, PNC Arena
