Nash Daily: Predators Begin Development Camp, Latest On Karlsson

Fans got their first glimpse of the Nashville Predators 2023 draft class on Sunday when 10 of the team’s 11 draft picks joined several other rookies and invitees at Centennial Sportsplex for development camp.

Prokop had a hit on Reid Schaefer during the 2 v 1. No surprise as he looks like the most mature defenseman.

During the 2 on 1s Lind was finding Felix Nilsson frequently. The Swede was taken 3 picks before him.

Predators general manager Barry Trotz had a simple message regarding the free agents he chose to sign when free agency began on Saturday — don’t come to Nashville to retire, come to Nashville to win.
Newly signed Predators Ryan O’Reilly and Luke Schenn have won three Stanley Cups between them, and they plus fellow free-agent signing Gustav Nyquist are the beginning of a culture shift in Nashville. The Predators also re-signed Cody Glass, Alex Carrier and Milwaukee Admirals forward Anthony Angello, plus they signed free-agent goalie Troy Grosenick.
Along with the free agent frenzy on Saturday, Trotz had an eventful few days before that. He bought out forward Matt Duchene, who signed with the Dallas Stars 24 hours later, and
Mark Borowiecki is following the Pekka Rinne post-retirement path after being announced as the Predators’ newest pro development coach.
