I’m told that Top Goalie Prospect Askarov has informed the @PredsNHL that he will not report to their @TheAHL team, and has requested a trade. #HockeyX #Preds pic.twitter.com/EQFGs7FUJK
The news comes after the Nashville Predators signed goaltender Juuse Saros to an eight-year, $61.92M extension on July 1 to keep the Finnish goaltender in Nashville for the next nine seasons. The extension made the starting position in Nashville unlikely for Askarov in the near future, a role the 22-year-old Russian and his agent Dan Milstein believe Askarov should have in the NHL sooner rather than later.Â
