Report: Predators, Alexandre Carrier Close To Contract Extension
The Nashville Predators and veteran defenseman Alexandre Carrier are nearing a contract extension, per TSN’s Pierre LeBrun.
Carrier, 27, was set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins Monday.
Originally a fourth-round selection in the 2015 draft by Nashville, Carrier boasts a plus-39 career rating with 62 points in 217 games.
The extension would potentially solidify a blue line that also features Roman Josi, Jeremy Lauzon, Dante Fabbro, Spencer Stastney and Luke Schenn ahead of free agency.
